That was part of the reason for the delay in my collecting my car last year ...... the previous owner wanted  his number back

Well im not losing out , ive posted it off today and registered post so they cant deny receiving it  Also took a photo of it before i popped it into the envelope 

i usually drive down to Swansea and deliver it personally, then wait in reception for my cheque.

For years I had 'tax in post office' scribbled on piece of paper and put in the windscreen.It's not so easy to get away with that one these days.

Tried it . Doesn't work.

Paying for a black and white TV licence when you owned a colour television was another  'economy drive measure' used by the piss poor back in the day.

Sadly, that option no longer exists.
