Broadband - Result
« on: 10 January 2014, 22:27:24 »

After much deliberation on how to achieve my upgrade to Fibre broadband thought I would give Sky a call about what they can offer to stop me from going to BT. Currently got BB unlim, line, unlim calls & tv (ent +) with them

Told them I wanted to upgrade to FB unlimited and get rid of TV package - after 30 min "discuss" with the nice young scottish lass got FB unlimited, Line, w/e calls & TV (ent+) for £17/month less than current - 12 month contract.

RESULT  :y :y :y 8)

Always worth a call and threaten to cancel with Sky.
Diary note made to do the same next Jan  ;D ;D

Unfortunately my experience with cancelling Sky was less than savoury.

Cancellation ordered on day X.
Cancellation happens on X-4 without warning.  Despite call to customer services there is nothing they can do but apologise.
Use phone for internet as it is required for work = bill for nearly £400 a month later.

Currently pursuing through ombudsman as my 6 years of custom (monthly bills of between £40 and £80) means nowt.

Doubt it, and I wouldn't want to bother you with it anyway as it is a completely different department.  I am not a customer anymore (Except for NowTV - keeping that fact back until I need to play it)

Besides, as it has now gone to the ombudsman I doubt there is much you can do until they rule either way.

Part of my exit plan was to have the alternative well along the install route before cancelling, have heard about this before. As it was an u/g to fibre MAC was not an issue.
