Rain sensitive wipers
« on: 12 January 2014, 10:29:47 »

Grrr, don't like them, I preferred the switched intermittent ones on my old miggy. They worked much better after I had the alternator fixed and a new battery. But they still seem inconsistent I keep the screen clean is there anything else to be done?

Thanks

By themselves but only when switched on in that mode, same switch is used to for us with intermittent wipers.

Woudn't have thought it would be too difficult to mod to normal intermittent wipe, stalk, Relay etc.

My Elite doesn't have them either ... I'm very pleased to say .. :) With the VW Relay fitted I find the infinitely controllable intermittent absolutely perfect  :y :y :y

I like the auto wipers on my Merc  ::)  ::)  ::) they work very well. I find it's a bind to flick the wipers on te other 'none auto wipers' cars in the household.  ;) ;)

Just driven from Broadstairs to Cornwall with my "rain sensitive" wipers. Fekkin useless.

In good light they are too sensitive but driving towards the sun or oncoming headlights in light drizzle is deadly.

The sensitivity needs to be adjustable, maybe manually or maybe in response to light level :-\

No problem with mine. Work well.

Being critical, they have a tendency to nod off, but apart from that they're good. No more fiddling with the stalk switch, which is rarely in the correct position.

Same here, no issues.

I had a 51plate Elite which had variable speed wipers, whereas my current 03 Elite does the rain sensitive ones ::)
