Cam Cover Gasket

Got a small bit of waterproofing that requires some black sealant/silicone and as have found an unopened tube of cam cover sealnt just wondering if it is waterproof for water only..also wont be subjected to light ..just cold water.

I used a dab of this stuff to to seal around inside the cracked plastic indicator housing on my bike & it doesn`t fill up with water anymore :y
