If you do you may have already noticed that the rules about buying and using have already changed.

Some practical changes in Spain are you cannot buy weedkiller in bigger than one litre packs- then only one (talking the stuff for dilution not ready made up hand sprays). Brands like Touchdown, Glysophosphate and so on. I believe this is the case in the UK now. The other noticeable thing is if you use a back pack sprayer you have to be accredited.i.e. been on a training course at your own expense. Some of it is common sense. e.g you don't want some idiot spraying the banks of a water course that is then going to be used for irrigation further down.

Since we became olive farmers, you now need to have been on an initial training course plus follow ups for the following:

Weed spraying

Tree spraying

Tree pruning

Anyway if you do spray weeds now would be a good time to get some stock in.

From may 2017 i think you will need pesticides aplication certificate to be able to buy glyphosate ( i mean the no diluted one ),
the ready for use as roundup (all glyphosate ) be still available to buy because nothing else is there on the market to replace it and worst be to leave all the weeds to grow everywhere.

about certificate ( you still be able to buy it but by law you will need to be able to show that person who be applying chemical 
got appropriate training - PA1 PA2 or knapsack I think is PA4)

the problem started because glyphosate dilutes in water ( but keeps strong to the soil) and after lots of rain before winter flush soil with glyphosate to the water stream what couses higher level than is acceptable in the water stream , rivers etc.
