Yes. The float sticks in the header tank, but the sensor is integral to the header tank. A new tank in the UK is around £35 & takes just a few minutes to fit ........ & looks a whole load better.

Have you checked it's still connected underneath?
Had the same problem and was going to get a new tank until this was suggested. The wiring had come off.

Yep check sensor plug under header tank connected first - no need to spend hard earned $$$ if not necessary.  If float sticking can sometimes be freed by working it up and down a few times.  Failing that, as said, a new header tank.

Is light on, when wires connected by sensor?
If this is so, I can "fix" it by disconnecting connector.
I think, junk yard will charge about $20 for the tank. I need to know how to check sensor by multi-tester.I'll check service manual.

Short the terminals in the plug to the sensor to fool the system into turning the warning light off. The sensor will open & close as you lift & lower the float.
Buy a new one ........  it'll look nicer.

I've just had a similar problem with my Miggy.

It's too hot to check the ball at the moment and I've not checked the sensor wire yet either.

Is it still safe to drive with the 'Check' light on? It won't cause the engine to stop will it or the engine management light to come on?

it'll be fine to run with check light on.you can just remove plug from sensor and loop a small length of wire between the 2 exposed terminals and that will turn light off.you can do the same with pad wear sensors.

I think I've fixed it as I saw other posts about poking a screwdriver in the bottle to move the sensor, which I did, and it seems to have resolved the problem for now, which I'm quite pleased about
