Peugeot 206 2.0l clutch replacement
« on: 26 April 2014, 21:05:37 »

Hi guys,

Wifey needs a new clutch. I've determined this because she has severe clutch judder and clutch pedal is really high. Is this enough diagnosis?

Anyway when replacing the clutch I'm looking for some online advice if possible as I've only ever done one clutch on a fiesta previously.

Is there anything to the procedure other than removing and marking shift linkage, driveshafts pulled out, removing pass. Side engine mount and supporting sump with wood and floor jack, removing any other stuff connected and then removing bell housing bolts?
Is the release bearing the same as on the ford I.e. All one piece that I just replace whilst gearbox is off?

Any info you could throw my way would be wonder bra  :y

Thanks.

206 is same,I've done a few 2.0 Hdi clutches on the 206's and they aren't too bad to be honest, once you get rid of the airbox and battery and tray its quite accessible

When you say centre bearing do you mean the part on the longest drive shaft where you have like a half moon shell type thing and you remove that and then remove drive shafts? Why would that be difficult to remove as it's only two bolts.  :-\ Or have I got it wrong  ::) ;D

It is two bolts with offset heads so you loosen the nuts about half an inch then push the bolts  back and turn them 180 degrees, you can then knock the support bearing and shaft out of the mounting, the bearing can be F tight in the housing though :-\

I remember having a hell of a job getting the bottom balljoint back into the hub on one of these, turned into an epic battle involving planks of wood  ;D
