I see your train of thought but be careful what you wish for. I drive a truck (not a tanker) for a small independent haulier.
    A:- It riles me when folk moan about only being awarded so many % pay rise. I've had NO pay rise for 4 yrs.
    B:- The price of diesel hits hauliers HARD, many have gone under because larger firms can undercut the rates & wear the fuel costs.
    C:- Whether anyone likes trucks or not remember 95% of ALL goods are delivered by road in the UK. If all HGV drivers took a weeks holiday @ the same time, construction, power, food ,furnishings, everything would grind to a halt quickly.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm against trucks. I am all for you guys getting your rise and I know how much we all depend on you. I think everyone should be getting on to the MP's. The fuel prices are affecting everyone so everyone should all stand together.
Basically, what would happen if everyone went on strike? For example Till operartors, Cleaners, Taxi drivers, Factory workers? Would Mr Brown listen then?
