Parents and cars
« on: 17 June 2014, 09:46:26 »

My mother in law put her old fiesta in for it's MOT yesterday and it failed badly with apparent welding required, wishbones etc and an estimated bill of £400, by amazing chance the garage had a 52 plate 206 sitting there for £1000 which she has put a deposit on ::)  I don't doubt the fiesta needs work but i'm really frustrated she didn't ring me for advice as 1k for this Pug seems steep to say the least. She's getting more impatient as time goes on ..... old codgers hey ! I'll try and get a look at the Pug before she picks it up

I have a MIL who doesn't ask for advice and even if she did wouldn't accept it.  ;)

There should be a law that  allows women to only drive drive automatics.

Girlies simply have no idea about clutch control and which gear to be in.

Cooking and cleaning is what women do best.......stick with what you're good at girls, and leave the driving to us men. :y

I speak the truth, Bigron. :y

I once had to reverse a Honda Civic  out of a parking space for a woman because she'd spent the last 20 minutes trying and failing to locate  reverse.

Bless her. ;D

It isn't ME you will have to answer to, Doctor and I am not disputing what you say, but may I suggest that you don't go out alone after dark?

Hmmm, not so sure about that one, as a woman in an automatic took out six cars in Sainsbury's car park recently. She hit the accelerator instead of the brake and just pressed harder until it came to a halt off the ground, wedged between two other cars. One of the damaged cars belonged to my sister.  :)

Yes. Mine is 90 and recently had an estate agent round. She signed a contract with a fixed commission instead of a percentage without my or the family's knowledge. She was being a little over-enthusistic and premature but the agent new what he was doing and I feel she was a bit led. Thank god she no longer drives!   ;)
