Had to take Miss Vamps to a specialised NHS Dentist as she wanted some work doing, long story short, she is not eligible for this on the NHS, he then went on to show, using model teeth the result of the treatment, which she could get done privately.......

She has a slight overbite and wants’ a brace putting on to correct this, it’s not really bothering her, but we agreed to investigate, there were other young people there who were clearly going to get this treatment on the NHS.
At the moment I was taken aback, that they would go direct to the child and, say the work could be done privately, potentially raising hope for the child, without any due consideration as to the parents ability to pay, and all parents know about ‘pester power’ I was present but he was speaking directly to her. The dentist did say that he did not do private work here, but some of his colleagues did.............
