I have never applied for any special security things at all - and I don't know if I would get any.

But then a certain Cheltenham based organisation seemed to not worry about a joke my and a friend who was working there at the time did.

Ok we did a bug and a TV transmitter :-[

Security guards licence it covers evrything from nightclub bouncer to store detective.....its pretty cool in fact i might save up and go for the close protection one you have to do a driving course similar to the police ones i believe and get to protect the likes of julia roberts and keira knightley you know pick em up and carry them off away from danger....but knowing my luck i`d get dawn french :o  :o

Did yours take long to get processed.... >:(

Passed my course two years ago...only received my license a month or so ago,the only plus side is im effectively licensed for 5 years instead of three  ;D ;D

Regards the Close protection just remember simply being licensed counts for jack...most employers will want experienced guys, mate has had his CP for 18 months and no one will touch him without experience. ::)

If you seriously consider doing at some point in the future its worth looking at oversea"s training as quite a few include firearms training in the package and im reliably informed certain countries (Philippines included  8-)) has a very high pass rate (Nothing too do with the huge amount of corruption out there  ;D).

I did my course training in Cyprs, though cut my teeth so to speak working in East Europe, Estonia mainly.

Can't do the job any more, but I keep my badge upto date as it adds some weight to me with the current job.
