2.6 will not start
« on: 29 August 2014, 17:55:49 »

My 2.6 would not fire up Wednesday morning; it just spun over with no attempt to fire or miss fire "Fast turn over".  I have tried what was suggested in an earlier post to see if it had got flooded, with no luck. A friend has plugged his laptop into my car but no errors were found on either the engine system or the immobilizer, however the fuel pump relay showed that it was inactive when the engine was turning over. Fuse 18 was checked and I swapped the fuel pump relay with a known working relay.  The fuel pump has been tested and is working ok.  Is it possible that it is the Crank sensor? As I have read that the fuel pump relay and other equipment wait for a signal from it to start working.

Thanks for reading this

It's quite possible crank sensor is the culprit here  . .  . as a V6  crank sensor fault does not always throw up a code

A mate of mine had a problem with his not firing/starting and it turned out to be 'bore wash'...

Hi all,
I have just changed the Crank sensor and it fired up straight away.  The difficult bit was finding a safe route for the new cable as it is not very long.  Thanks for the replies
