Not voting is to reject your role in a democratic society. Certainly noone ever changed anything by actively not voting.

Say you have a district of 104 people. They have an election in which there are two candidates. One is a total idiot, the other a normal person. If a hundred sheeple decide not to vote by way of protest, and  idiots vote for the idiot candidate, and a normal person votes for himself, then everybody loses out, as 101 people then have to put up with the wishes of three idiots...

But by voting for "None of the above" you have actually made the effort to consciously vote...

Simply not voting at all roughly translates to "Can't be arsed to get out of bed" :y

No political paty really floats my boat these days.

Milliband....Wishy washy. :-\
Cameron....Eton toff. :-\

Clegg........Another public school educated toff. :-\

Farage........Oh dear. :-\

If only 'screaming Lord Sutch' was still alive. ;D

I think you are spot on there. We haven't had a charismatic leader for quite a while now. Gordon Brown plumbed new depths to my mind.

I think it is quite sad when you realise that most of the MP's seem only to be in it for the kudos/expenses. If only there were more Beast of Bolsovers.

Great guy was Dennis. :y

Sorry....he is still alive and kicking. ;D

The reality is that they might get 10% of the seats... If the tories and liebour are pretty much neck and neck, then then they will need to form a coalition to take control.

To those of you who don't vote out of apathy, might I make one sensible suggestion...

Instead of not voting, vote for any independent candidates.

Somebody said to me the other day that "Every none vote is a vote for sharia law, because there is no voting apathy there"

And to be honest I had no answer for that and could see what he meant

I was one of the 36% that did vote up here

I have voted at every general election  since 1979, when I voted for JC rather than MT. :y

The British Public are apathetic when it comes to Voting! The Right to Vote is a great Privilege not to be taken lightly, but unfortunately it is taken for granted by the greater majority and it is a case of 'I can't be arsed' come Polling Day! Unfortunately, it is those same people who shout the loudest about the shortcomings of every Government, and the same ones who have the answer to every ill from the Economy to Immigration!  :(
