Just bought a set of Bosch, under £40 brand new, so I'm a happy chap

Not sure of the manufacturer's name, but they were OEM spec and alleged quality.

With 6 new Bosch plugs (might as well change those whilst I was at it) it came to £54 inc Vat.

They quoted £60 odd for Bosch leads alone without plugs plus they would have to order in.

Time will tell but everything fine at the moment 

I don't think Andrew Page would sell crap to be honest - well hope not

I'm sure they'll be fine, thats a great price. Genuine Vx plugs on trade club are very cheap too, but at lets say £40 for a set of leads, and you change them maybe after 30k, or more, that's really pennies per hundreds of miles / few quid a year, havent really heard much in the way of conclusive proof that super expensive leads are better economy for the wallet, that having cheaper leads, but replacing them more often. Look forward to the results!

Yea I've noted the mileage I changed them at - so will know the lifespan if they start to break up.

The original  Beru leads were on the car (98k miles) - they were well routed and had sheathing round the back with cable ties so no way could have got to to them unless engine had been out which I know it hasn't as one owner car before me and it hasn't had any major work

Don't know how long the originals were on the V6 for, but when I changed mine last week they were Beru, and dated 03 - so on a 1996 car definitely not the originals 

However, these had been boiled in oil, thanks to previous owners lack of cleaning the breathers (possible they'd never been cleaned since new?) and had a nasty split on one. Now sourced brand new Bosch ones, as the 'good' used ones (with only 37k on them) were pants. Missing on at least 2, maybe 3 cylinders! Eh, get what you pay for - they were free 

I digress, assuming the originals lasted 100k, the car's now on 170k+, though still working fine, just looking suspect so I changed them, so on her third set in 170 thousand miles (ok, 4 sets including the pants free ones!) anyway, three sets in 170k
