CDR 2005 Radio help
« on: 31 January 2015, 20:11:21 »

Recently discovered that I can get a 3 metre roll of vinyl comfortably into the car, from inside the boot resting on the dashboard. :D

Trouble is when I took it out, it slid down over the dash, the only thing in its way was the radio volume control/power switch which ended up on the floor. So now discovered the volume control isn't strong enough to withstand being hit by a roll of vinyl. :(

Now need to replace the volume control/power switch. Tried looking online for parts for the radio with no luck. Can anyone point me in the direction of sourcing radio parts? Am able to do the work to replace this switch, just need parts.

Any help most welcome.

You're right, they are pricey. Probably better buying a unit and stripping for parts.

Joff
Am watching some on ebay for around a tenner with no code. Could strip this. What would you want for yours?

Indeed, as the unit is unloved and unwanted by all (as it is the worse of all Omega stereos) and used extensively in other GM vehicles, get a 2nd hand one and swap the knob over. Its about 5 wires from memory that need soldering.
