as ive done alot of mods on my engine with very good results and a lot of money thrown at it with custom parts made especially for me,why do vx charge so much for a bit of rubber, where ive actually used other makes and never had a problem, maybe because im using very high performance oil and it gets changed every 3k ,thought please.
I think you'll find most of us here change a around that sort of mileage ;)

Both banks should come to less than a fiver.

They probably cost about 20p to produce. :(

40k on the ones on the 2.6 (about a years mileage), never cleaned the breathers in that time but do change the oil every 3 - 3.5K and the vast majority of my journeys are motorway. Cambelt and auxbelt kits being fitted tomorrow so might clean the breathers. Might!

I keep chucking this up cos i wonder is the way to go.

Spoke to VX on friday and he said Part no 55351456 is £28.55 + Vat

This being the all in one cam cover gasket for the later 3.2

So why not use that instead for all  :y

Having seen the Elring pattern ones - the ones Autovaux ship as "genuine" - they are very different to the ones supplied by my local GM dealer.

So even if they are Elring, the ones supplied to GM and the ones supplied to the aftermarket channel are not the same.
