I added half a litre of coolant last night when the engine was cold so I needed to open the expansion bottle. There was a lot of pressure in it needless to say but this morning miggy started with no problem at all. Deff head gasket Will ask local garage for the price, not going to change gasket by myself - have no tools required sadly

Got quoted about 500eur for head gasket change + cambelt etc..working hours included.... I'm really not into it now so I 'm looking for a miggy replacement. There's a miggy that cought my eyes here... 2.5, 2000year , only 65k miles done, saloon with new exhaust system, just needs cam gaskets for a grand. It's a bit poor spec, probably GL, aftermarket H/U, no rust in dark blue. We'll see....

Thats a good price , id keep what you have and get it fixed

My thoughts too but I 'm afraid it could also be cracked head which is not uncommon so I'm planning to either scrap it and strip some bits to reuse on "new one" like polly's, susspension arms, xenon headlight motors and battery and sell MV6 alloys, s/l pump and some stuff. Or replace head gasket and keep my fingers crossed it's only gasket's fault than sell it or use it till the end with 2.5 miggy waiting in garage. I'm still between desisions here

There's almost no chance to find an engine with less mileage than 300k/km on omega here.

2.5 it is then if your diagnosis is correct on your current car ... probably breathers blocked on the 2.5 with weeping rocker covers

Yes, as usual. Got rocker gaskets already for it and breathers will be done while changing them. I hope only 65k miles will help to drive new miggy for a while

You wont get any head problems on 2.5 like on 2.0
