so out on a country road (middle of no were) when eml light comes on rev counter was on 2 thou and starts jumping up and down. we had been driving an hour and up to that point hadn't missed a beat managed to pull over and as soon as i put it park engine dies and dash lights come on. i pray turn key and she starts no problem but the eml light stays on. so we travel on then drive 60 miles home (eml light on) stop at shop for dinner get back in car eml light stays off rest of way home, wife tells me twice last week the eml light stayed on when she started the car in morning 2 out of 5 days. now the week before we had a complete new exhaust inc cat fitted as our cat was missing and rest was rotten. before that we never had the eml light come on. going to get garage to put code reader on to see if any thing shows up but thought i would  ask  here too

Was it a Vauxhall system you had fitted or after market, did they fit new lamder sensor too.

i belive the cat was vauxhall part as garage had to get it in as the old cat had been cut out and replaced with tube and the middle and back i got were after market. i will comfirm  this when i call in for code checks.  the lamber sensor was not changed
