How hard can it be to fit window tint  That aplication spray , is it just watered down washing up liquid ? The film is pretty cheap so was thinking of having a go

I had it in the old omega and it serves many purposes mr opti . Keeps the car cooler and also hides any items in the back , of course it will be just the back windows and rear window

It's easy, spray the stuff on the window, peel the backing off the tint, and stick it down.
Equally, a show-winning paint job is just a matter of waving a spraygun over the car, or nailing a jelly to the ceiling requires a jelly, nails, ceiling and a hammer.


The tricky bit is getting an entire window's worth of film to stick evenly with no bubbles, and then to trim everything so it looks right. You'll spend more getting it right than paying someone to do it for you.


And just doing the rear windows looks stupid, like most new cars that come with it already done.

Think ill have a go , £8.99 a roll so not much lost if it goes wrong 
I can take the rear glass screen off and trim it

I pass a Land Rover on the dog walk with a film tint on the fairly flat, easily accessed back window. It looks like a cross section through an Aero!

Have a look on ebay should be able to get a pre cut kit,but you will never get a professional finish tho,doing it yourself,try autotronix,london road ,bedford,good prices and also include lifetime warranty on their tints.

Even the pros take several attempts at an omega rear window. Hair driers to stretch the film, zero access to the bottom edge due to the angle on a saloon, and very difficult to trim.

I have a set of the privacy shades for my Insignia and they do the job very well . Bonus is that it is a matter of minutes to remove them for the dark days of winter and then to reinstall them in the spring !!

Being an SRI mine has the factory tint on the rear windows, but also has the built in shades in the tops of the rear doors

I had them in my Vectra B - they are excellent and very very easy to fit...

Only problem is they are only available for the Omega estate.... which is a shame, otherwise Id have had another set fitted again...
