Hi all, have a Vauxhall Omega Elite V6 1999 V reg. I'm after a manual for this car and looking on Ebay all I see is the manual but up to T reg 1999 will this be suitable for my 1999 V reg, thanks for your time.

Hello Blue , i've found the Haynes manual helps but the guides on here are spot on and give you the confidence to tackle jobs you might not of taken on

Always useful to have a Haynes kicking around for things like torque values and it keeps greasy mitts off the laptop!

Car boot season st :)arted may get one there if ebay too expensive - know what you mean though best to have one for easy access reference and to stuff the excellent guides from this site into it

How could £15 be considered too expensive

It's one of the last manuals to contain proper wiring diagrams, which are worth the price alone imho

On the whole I agree. However I suspect like the rest of the books, they'll be full of mistakes....
1. Vauxhall diesel engine book. I'd never set the timing using a dial gauge before. I needed all the help I could get. Book said refer to pic 3.2 (Where to set the gauge to), picture of a piston with rings being put on 
2. Vauxhall Fault Codes book. Need to diags on a Pug 307. Flick to the colour photo section in the back, find the location of the plug easily. Flick to the Pug chapter, is there anything vaguely mentioning the 307? Hell no. 

This is just two examples I can remember. There any many more.

Wrt the Omega manual, it covers pretty much everything that is common to all Omegas, esp suspension, brakes and wiring, and the 2.0 16v is basically identical to the newer 2.2, as are the earlier v6s compared to the later ones. Sure there are some differences, but it suffices as a pretty good guide to the various jobs, especially as a handy reference for tightening sequences etc

I've not seen the Omega manual. I've spent a lot of time with v6 Vectra's, which is a PITA as you need the Vectra book for the body and the Omega book for the engine. Stuff that, I bought this one....
