people can say what they want, i was NOT going out on the roads for the first ever time on a bike with heavy rain! Around my area their was heavy traffic due to the Grand Prix, add to that the spray, your having a laugh, i was not feeling like dieing that day  ;)

There was no need to me to have to learn that day, i can do it when ever i want, no point taking risks when i did not need to! - I drove to scrap yard about 2 hours later, the car was being moved by the wind.

Yes of course i need to learn to ride a bike in the rain, i am not stupid. But i would rather go out in the rain when i had some more experiance.

Tbh going around on the bike, i could not see what all the fuss was about!
The rain was obviously somewhat lighter over my end of Brackley than it was at the Rugby Club, some 200m away ::)

As to the traffic/spray/wind/etc, as previously stated, it would mostly be around town, and every single limit in town is 30mph, so no spray.  GP traffic would be on bypass, so that wouldn't be an issue either.  Plus, I'm sure I offered you some waterproofs that would have kept you mostly warm and dry ;)

As to 'what all the fuss was about' you haven't been on a bike yet ;). walking pace around a carpark isn't the same thing.

Driving down the halse road there was spray, had standing water along most of it.

I just wanted to learn ride a motorbike as something to do, get a new skill.

I currenly fill up with petrol once every 2 weeks, i don't need or want a bike to commute.

I have had a 2.2 for the past 3 years, 0-60 times don't float my boat either  ;)
Thats fair enough (though doesn't explain why you want mother tunnie's car ;)), so why take the CBT?

yeah cause the sun was out, warm day.... course i did.

I also love taking the dogs for walks on summer day, i don't take them for a walk when its raining. No fun!

A bike for me would be a toy, i don't like to play in the rain!

I did both my CBT and DAS in the rain. Yet I'm a fair weather biker.

As it is, you cannot experience the fun of a bike, wet or dry, without another £100 on another CBT

Exactly, which is why I can't understand your reasoning about not doing it Sunday.

Its not for everyone and that’s no problem.  I have a lot of friends with bikes and took my CBT and DAS back in the mid nineties.

Looking back and being honest, I was never really comfortable on any of my bikes but probably least comfortable on my last bike (Laverda 668) which was simply too big for me.

Then lost a mate in a motorcycle accident.  Sold my bike shortly after woods and have never missed it.  Some other mates had a break from bikes (some even sold theirs) but most have returned.  Its got to be a passion else your kidding yourself.

Any bike should be shown great respect.  Letting someone loose on the roads is a big responsibility and not to be taken lightly.  Weekend fair weather biker, not possible.  Just like learning to drive a car, you pass your test and then start learning.

I still think car drivers should be tought mainly by professionals - so many ordinary drivers have bad habits

You must be an old fart like me then! ;)  I did an RAC/ACU scheme although I was a year older than you when I took my bike test on a borrowed Z250. I passed my car test whenI was 17 though.
