The battery connection have probably come away from the pcb .... what are you like with a soldering iron?  ;) ;)

Printed Circuit Board.

As Andy says, sometimes the Battery connections break or disconnect themselves from the PCB, as a possible temp fix you could try packing some paper between the Battery and outer casing to push the battery into the PCV, may work but not for long.

Other issues are the buttons collapse or again break connections from the PCB.

As a temp measure until you get it fixed is to lock the drivers door from the inside via the rear door, as that wont set the Alarm on when locked. Ok, so no Alarm but beats pissing the Neighborhood off every time you go to open it.

Anyone with a soldering iron can do this easily and quickly.

If the battery holder has come away, the best fix IMHO is to solder a new leg (like a resistor lead) to the holder to extend its (broken) legs, then solder the holder in place.
