Neighbours say to me...car trouble again....no it isnt,,,it is my hobby,,even at my age i still like to tinker with my omega and keep it it the best possible condition as I can,,I enjoy driving my old very comfortable old banger...cant find another car that will give me the same  comfort and satisfaction.....-.I have had many omegas and do get to a point when i have done everything i can to them and then get bored and sell it...i have tried a vauxhall astra 1800 mk4,,nice little car,but thats what it is,,a little car no-where  near as comfortable as my omega so bought another one and just keep coming back to them even if it is as you lot say..( desmond ).(half an omega ) ha.ha.there is no getting away from the fact that they are a very nice car and i am addicted to them....I have thought of buying a new car, however do i realy want to lash out approx £15k on a new car...no because time and time again i have worked out what the omega costs me to run and that £15k will keep the old girl running longer than I probably will.so until such times as i have to buy a newer car i shall stay with them..

Tinkering is half the fun. I recently bought a 14 year old 2.6 petrol manual saloon, with MOT from November, an impressive vehicle health check and a cam belt last changed in 2005. I was relieved to get it home from Plymouth, the more so when I found a front tyre showing wire on the inner edge. There followed 10 days of enjoyable sorting, cam belt, breathers, cam covers, brakes stripping down, front suspension rebuilding with new ATEC wishbones, track rods and drop links, new tyres and oil and filter change.. She now runs sweet as a nut, and the pleasure is enhanced by the knowledge that I have restored it to near new condition.
