In answer to Pauls original question... ::)

If the Omega mechanism was internal then it could easily be done... Mk2 Granadas have and adjustable spring set up, and set on its max position it would ping all the way open with ease... Because the Omega mechanism is entirely internal, that simply won't work without extensive body work...

However it might be possible to modify a window regulator with a cable connection to a suitable point on the hinge mechanism to pull it open... Adding the motor to the close side of the window looms would potentially qllow it to be closed usintg the global closing :-\

Why? My boot opens when I press the button on the bootlid, and pull the handle. Is this thread a bit like rain-sensing wipers!

No. A thread, in this particular instance, is a discussion on a car forum. Rain sensing wipers are devices fitted to cars to clear the windscreen. Totally different.  :y

On my other car my boot lid opens when I move my foot under the bumper or I can do it on the key fob. It has nothing to do with the strength of the strut/spring as it doesn't have any.  It has motorised hinges, hence the ability to close it electronically as well.  :y

Boots need some heavy gear to work smoothly
