how do i identify 3.0 cams , thanks

Near the end where the pulley sits there is ring around the shaft that have a letter then a number. EG....
A19
G7
J4

The letter is the cam, the number is apparently the machine used.

I should add, the number is made up of drilled dots, not cast in the metal, ignore the cast numbers.

Yea, good shout with the pic, as there are, as you say, other letters and numbers stamped on the other end of the cam, Ive seen them start with a Gxxxx even though there not G cams. The cams are or were colour coded with a ring colour mark, but guessing the colour faded after a while, hence the stamping as per the pic.

Fairly sure there's a Colour Code Table on the forum somewhere, probably one of Marks DTM early postings.
