« on: 29 July 2015, 19:05:10 »

I changed my cam cover gasket today reconnected everything and now the car won't start. Connected up to code reader it's showing crankshaft sensor fault would this stop the car from starting it was fine yesterday before I started the job.

Yes could the coil pack be bad and not showing up a code.

Far too big a co-incidence if it was running ok before...

Tripple check everything, does it splutter? Or attempt to fire?

With just coil pack connected it should run, would run like bag of spanners but should start.

As I started mine without throttle body loom plugged in, can run without MAF too

Pinched or not plugged in properly cam sensor wiring is my starter for ten...

If it's screwed down, the coil pack should be located properly. Impossible to balls that up on a four pot :y

Why was the sensor changed? Were the codes read by the mechanic?

I'd invest in a code reader  :y
