With irmscher gear being rare as rocking horse poop, I imagine insurance will take a pounding if you live in London (just got a quote from confused.com and its £300 more).

What needs to be declared exactly. On the confused website its give you the options of a bodykit, front air dam, rear vallance, side skirts, plus a few more.

Does the bodykit option cover everything? Or is it better to list all the irmscher parts item by item?

Where would they source replacement irmscher parts if you were to make a claim?

Well one thing is for sure if your pay extra premium for the Irmscher Kit, its not going to get replaced in the event of a claim.

Plus who to say it didn't leave the Dealer with the kit attached.

My view would be for the extra cost you pay to get the kit covered over a number of years probably equates to more than acquiring a second hand kit that comes up now and then.

For insurance purposes it needs to be declare, otherwise the policy is invalid.

Most policies will state that non factory fit kit will be replaced, but standard parts used.

In reference to my own cars........I know nothing about Omegas and therefore as to any reference to any ''extras'' on the car,thought they came out the factory like it  and let's face it, in the event of any claim the insurance companies will without doubt as a matter of course  bend you over without any pain relief

I declare the Irmscher kit, stainless exhaust, LPG conversion and the tow bar, all are listed but no increase in premium at all. Does state that if body kit parts are not available they will be replaced by standard items.

Many years ago talking to assessor, if the car was supplied new, or they are factory approved parts
eg irmedcher, rs-fud, M-tec bmw, amg,brabus, etc they don't need to be declared,as when involved in a collision, parts will if available be replaced like for like.

No Omega was ever fitted with Irmscher stuff (bar grill and spoilers on PFL Elites), and Irmscher didn't resell modified Omegas.

Thus, there is no factory fitted Irmscher kit, hence it needs to be declared to keep insurance valid. IME, the premium increase is minimal. TBE is declared with full bodykit, wheels, exhaust and LPG, and the premium increased by about 1% (couple of quid)
