Carlton/Omega air assit rear shocks
« on: 02 September 2015, 20:09:52 »

Thought this may be of interest to some members.

Been down local Vauxhall dealers today to see about getting some new air assisted rear shocks for my Omega.

£250/pair normal retail price, but only £164 with trade club.

The only after market ones I could find where Monroe ones at £208 from Ebay.

Can you get a part number of those for me please?
These the one's for manual level system (with the schrader valve in the boot) or will they do for the self levelling system on the Elite estate?

The Monroe ride levellers will work with the Omega system but you would need to remove the connectors for the shocks so they then can be used with the Monroe shocks....

I removed the Omega air shocks and installed the Monroe air shocks, but I have also got a set of the airpipes if I find a pair of the proper Omega air shocks at a good price... otherwise I'll just stick with the Borg shocks I have at the moment. the only time I'll re-instate the air ride is when the caravan is on the back to keep the car from bottoming out :)

I am away at the moment, but I'll get the part number when I'm home next week.
They were listed for both manual and auto levelling systems.

Thanks for that, been looking at the Monroe set on the bay of evil £209 + P&P of £30 :-\

I have a contact that may be able to get me a set at trade club price and they will be OEM so no faffing about with the existing air lines.  :y
