Air conditioning
« on: 04 September 2015, 19:45:49 »

Hi Chaps,
Have just brought my 'Elite' 2.6 back from garage after MOT, and noticed the air conditioning stays on when heater is activated and will not switch off. The button does not appear to jammed and everything else on the system is operational. Is this a job for an auto electrician?
Any ideas what it could be?

And I would leave it on to ensure all seals are lubricated and pressure is maintained in the system  :y

Not makes much difference to fuel economy  ;) and ALL the difference if it goes wrong if not used and leaks due to lack of use  :o

Hi,
What I am saying is that the Auto button will not swith off. It is not necessary to have air conditioning on permantly as long as it is activated once or twice a week to keep seals lubricated.

The climate has 3 settings:

"OFF" = nothing on, simply press button for this.

"Auto" = Climate on with aircon when needed.

"Auto Eco" = No aircon, ever, just cooling fans.

It's best to leave in Auto and let the system figure things out  :y

In 10 years of Omega's and 9 years of Vectra's I don't think I've ever turned the Aircon off!  :)

IIRC, hot up the windscreen will bring on AC compressor. By design.
