Interior mirrors
« on: 21 September 2015, 16:03:49 »

Hopefully Autoglass will bring me the screen I ordered tomorrow, and I've put an ad in the Wanted Section in for an Elite rain sensing mirror and sensor and all other associated parts.

However, in the meantime, does anyone know if all rear view mirrors share the same fitting on the screen. ie: can I put my own rear view mirror up temporarily, until such time as I find all the bits I need for the conversion?  :y

the rain sensor is integral to the screen .... not the mirror  ;)

Are you using / ordered a rain sense screen or you using a normal one.

Rain sensor clips into clip provided on correct screen and shadeband is extended around it. Highly unlikely Autoglass will bring you the correct screen on the first visit.

Much appreciated :-)

Thanks to all. Yes, ordered a rain sensy jobbie. Basically looking at getting a mirror up for now, and worrying about getting the rain sensing gear as and when (if ever, as the screen has two features, rain sensing and heat-reflective, this second feature alone will help with the cabin heat of a black interior'd car with no air con!)

If they bring the right screen  :y They've mucked me around pillar to post and lied left right and centre, with abysmal abilities to provide the most basic of services. Honesty there's bent African Military Governmental Regimes that could learn a thing or two from Autoglass!

The screen Autoglass supply will be a Pilkington's one. No complaints with the installation of mine, but took the usual two attempts to get the right screen (Auto Windscreens to five attempts back a few years ago!).

One of the delays is that the install is classed as a two man job on their system, apparently they can't use the buddy arm cradle thingy because the screen doesn't just 'drop in' it has to be put in from the lower edge first, this can cause some issues because they have to have two techs available.

Good Luck!!!

Must say, the heat reflective screen looks better on a black car than a silver car from the outside.

Thanks, young man  :y. I seem to need a bit of good luck lately with this screen!
