Very common failure on Astras and Corsas, and an early tell tale that it is failing is the inability to enter a code into the radio

ACC position fails first - doesn`t affect usual starting or running of car, so seldom detected

And many drivers are capable of ignoring symptoms until the part 'suddenly' fails.

That's why i replaced it to rule that out. And it's not bought from stealer but from a very reputable workshop, specialised on Opel and the only workshop i use if my hands fell short.
Anyone have the part number for Vx? Will order one from them to make sure it's correct and not some china-crap.

So probably find out why the switch didn't lock in place. As I started my christmas holiday on monday :y and I'm currently in Estonia. So gave the workshop I mentioned before a visit to book my mothers Astra in for coilpack change and told about the problem with the switch and asked advice. The guy in charge new rightaway what the problem is. There is the small screw one side and the little pin on the ohter. I didn't pushed the pin out while installing the switch so it sits only with the small screw at the moment, no wonder it's a bit doggy.

It happend again. This time Mrs called me out to see. So as mentioned before CID, radio, climate panel, fuel and temp gauge, interior lightning from lightswitch dead plus speedo and tachometer stuck in about 1/3 of the range and lights flashing randomly on the dash. Didn't came to life after restarting the car. It did came to life after i wiggled the rear reading light(above the door). So there is clearly fault in the wiring or?
