Hi all,

The car is starting very poorly at the moment and I wanted to ask a question.

When the Glow plug wire light glows orange for a few seconds when the key is turned does that mean that the glow plug relay is working?

If it was not working would it not glow at all?

Reason for asking is that the glow plugs were all replaced about 1.5 years ago so just wondering if it could be anything else that is not causing the plugs to glow rather than them being dead?

Also I can see an 80amp fuse within the bonnect fuse box next to where the wires for the glow plugs go into and wondered similarly if this fuse had gone would the orange glow plug wire light light up?

Thanks very much

No the GP Light seems to be independent of the Relay, in fact the relay stays on for about another 3 seconds after the dash light goes out.

Could be a duff relay they start to arc across the contacts over time, easy enough to check, just volt meter the 12v output from the relay feeding the 6 GP wire feeds on top of the relay plug (the 12v feed into the relay is wired directly to the battery).
