amazon free delivery
« on: 27 February 2016, 12:14:56 »

has any body been duped by amazons offer of next day free delivery. I have. what I apparently didn,t do at the time of ordering was tick a  "No Box" and by not doing so agreeing to subscribe to Amazon Prime which enables them to take (after 30days) money from your bank account of which was the one used to initially for the purchase. in my case they took £79, & as far as I can gather it would be an ongoing thing. banks are aware of this in fact NatWest have a hotline to amazon & will connect you, as they did in my case. its has been sorted & with a full refund . BEWARE of AMAZONS FREE DELIVERY. make sure of a prime time offer

Unfortunately it is a case of them cashing in on the fact that people rarely read the Terms and Conditions they are agreeing to! ::)

If you use Amazon a lot and want the video streaming too then it's not a bad price at £79/year but, buyer beware!!

Oh... And you aren't alone... I know lots of people who made the same error. Only reason I didn't really is because it was brought to my attention!!

I almost got caught out by that a few months ago. Am very wary of all selling sites now as you have to "untick" boxes on some instead of ticking for what you actually require.

That part of the checkout has been like that for at least a couple of years, where you have to select "No Thanks" link.  The T&Cs do clearly state you will otherwise sign up to a £79 annual fee for Prime.

Whether or not Prime is worth it depends on your own personal circumstances.  Currently, I don't use Amazon enough to warrant it.

I've used the free delivery then cancelled it immediately a few times when offered a "free trial". ::)
