A letter from the council.Private Hire and Hackney

I received a letter today from the council.....

Now it doesnt affect me (i think  :-/ ).......but i still think its bl**dy stupid... >:(

And I know several drivers who are gonna be outraged....

Basically the letter says your vehicle, if you want a private hire plate or hackney plate, must have windows that allow 75% light through the front windscreen and 70% light through the remaining windows.

The drivers that are gonna be outraged are the ones that do comply with the front windscreen and front windows......but have deeply tinted windows in the rear windows and rear screen......perfectly legal....and looks good i think on black cars......which these are.....

And i know some of these vehicles were ordered from the manu like this........so what are they suppose to do.....get new rear windows and a new rear screen  >:(

I know many passengers like it.....when a vehicle turns up to pick them up thats got deeply tinted rear windows......

Many of our disabled wheelchair vehicles have deep tinting in the rears......mainly to give passengers in wheelchairs privacy......

BTW My Omega has 70% tint (and i suspect they all do) on the side windows ..... dunno what the windscreen is (not checked hence why i said earlier not sure if it affects me  :-/ )

I think i know why they have done this........but as im not sure (ie dont have the proof) carnt say why......

What about all the stretch limos around ?  They are going to be hacked off -- especially if it goes country wide !
