I can sell you some 99p spanners. Obviously they are shite, will fail, and will hurt when they fail.

This. I upgraded after popping 2 sockets in 1 day on a cheap set (laser maybe). Lost most of the skin on the knuckles of 1 hand. After that, the Halfords Professional sets looked pretty reasonably priced.

Ooooo, in the market for another 200pc socket set :) :y

They've improved the hinges and catches on the later cases as well.  :y

All the Halfords Pro/Advanced sets I've owned have either been too old or too new for those shitty cases, but I've seen other members' ones.  Only minor annoyance with the new ones is the side catches, plus I also have concerns about long term use of those catches...

By improved, I mean that the lid actually stays connected to the base via the hinges when you fully open it (metal pin), whereas on mine the lid falls off when you open it (plastic lug). Can come in handy if you only require one half of your socket set I suppose.  ::)
