Plastic banknotes have been in circulation worldwide for decades and Britain is way behind the curve on this.  ::)
Have other countries put War criminals on theirs, or are we the first?

You referring to the bombing of Dresden Harris?
Yup.

Bomber Harris never was and never will be a criminal, he was side stepped because of political pressure from the spanks, which Churchill gave into, his area bombing was sanctioned, by Churchill, and the Air ministry, Dresden was a much rail terminus for troops heading to the eastern front, and the west, Dresden burned, because of the large amount of wooden, and timber framed houses.
He took the war to the Germans front door,
He died a troubled man because "his boys" were not allowed a war medal, he fought till he died,
Bomber command now have a beautiful memorial, in green park,.a testament to a 70 year fight to be recognised, for the sacrifice 55,000 people made, and have now been remembered as they should have been 70 years ago.
Long live there memory, along with bomber Harris.

It was a damned disgrace that Bomber Command had to wait so long to be recognised for the sacrifices they made

So it's alright for us to do it, but everyone else gets dragged in to the Hague to explain themselves...

The service men and women deserve recognition for their efforts. No arguments there. But the powers that be should be held accountable for their actions.

No one has called the Yanks to task for Hiroshima, so why should Harris and Bomber Command be for carpet bombing? The Luftwaffe did it also. It,s war, horrible things are done in war. What about Doodlebugs and V2s?

Das gruppenfrurer, complain to much. I would like to take you to a pathfinder reunion, at raf wyton, for you to air your stupid comments.
I did think you had some sense, I stand corrected.

We won, therefore we make the rules, whoops the spanks decided.

I merely made an off the cuff observation about Churchill...

In no way was that meant as a slur against those who gave, and continue to give, so that we might live and think as we please.

The problem is, ultimately, anyone who is separated from an event really shouldn't be qualified to judge. An opinion yes, but judge - no. Frankly irritates me when this 'war criminal' argument gets bandied about. It was WAR. Hell, crimes, debauchery, and sickening acts occur; on all sides, it is inevitable. That's why it's called War and ideally should be avoided. Personally I think it's a wonder that the Allies won by being as 'moral' as they did, given what they were up against.
