My mini face lift Elite does NOT have chilled glove box either.
Lizzie if you find where the chilled air came from & adapt your face lift I'd be interested to know.
I'll have to remember to look in the scrapyard when I get another drivers door window -  there are about 3 in the yards near me, inc a Polish reg'd estate.

Thanks Lizzie. I too, miss the chilled glove box from the Senator.
The Pontiac I had in America the other year had a chilled stowage area under the centre armrest, along with a 12v power socket. Would've been handy had a taken my phone charger.  ;)

American cars would........so why then did GM drop the cool box from the miggy???  Perhaps it was the thought that the Brit's don't need one........their cans of larger go down so quick they would never be allowed to chill anyway! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I'm sure that, as has been said, that early cars did have a chilled glove box, but was dropped for miniface lift - I have a broucher somewhere - Perhaps GM didn't see the need to chill a glove box that you could now only get a Curly Wurly in!  :y

Thanks Andy, but I have now confirmed that my 1996 Elite did have a chilled glove box, but was dropped when the facelift came along, although the mini facelift apparently did have one.  Why, who knows!  But they could have had a redesign to increase the box size.

but my 99 MINI facelift doesn't, the cut out is there ready to be punched through though. I did have a quick look arond the ducting to see if there was something similar to the senator's air take off but couldn't find owt! It's all by the way at the momment though, as per another thread last week, I need more R134a. I lost the last lot. It's going back in the morning for hime to have another look. I can see this costing me - condensor or compressor are my guesses.

I'd forgotten about this! I'm off to get A N Other driver's door window tomorrow (weather pending - it's just LAGGED it down while we were in Tesco) so I'll try to look then.
