insurance Q, who would be at fault if...???
« on: 26 July 2008, 17:24:56 »

this has happened on 2 occasions, with awful consequences:

one particular incident i read about in performanceVW mag, a  guy in a brand new MK5 Golf R32 has a slow speed accident where he runs into the back of a woman, she gets out, he admits liability and considerately says "come sit in my car while we swap details"

a few minutes later while sorting details she complains of severe neck and back twinges, so the paramedics and fire brigade are called, and they have to cut the roof of the very minor damaged brand new R32 to get the woman out

apparently an absolute genuine claim of pain, but an instant write off!!

who's gonna be held responsible for that one??!

(the other situation was in the paper recently apparently but i didnt see it, involving an impreza)

Too many con men out there to give comment!

Would not do that myself. always sit them on verge. Have heard of rape and molestation charges being bought also for good samaritan type behaviours.

Trust nobody in the event of an accident.

Have had to go on a few RCA only to find peps are more intersted in money and claims than their own health  :( One chap even uttered ' get the compo' as his dying words.  :o

well there's no way of knowing if it's deliberate or just a very unfortunate coincidence!

i wouldnt even let them sit in my car if i'm honest, but then all my passengers are asked to remove their shoes anyway when they get in my car!! :D
