I just use VNC if i ever need to use me other computers.
I use VNC too, very useful little program

I also used RealVNC at work, its great if you have a Gigabit network, however VNC here at home is no good really, 54g wireless network thats constantly getting hammered, we have download stats and we downloaded almost 115Gb's last month!  ::)

TD - Yep its a great program, although getting it working can be a little fiddly. Few tips:

To configure it right, use the network names of your machine in the config, so "marklaptop" is on the right of "markpc".

That will make sense when you see the config  :y

Also make sure you install the 2 extra so that it loads on boot, simple button on the menu for that...

Will give it a go m8  :y
I tried VNC once to control servers at a comp i once worked at......even tho they only had about 100 users.....and i was on a 100M connection (users where only on 10M connection)  i still found it quicker to walk the 100yrds to the computer room....so agree with ya Tunnie......unless you've a mega bandwith its a tad slow......i found XP desktop sharing was faster!

RDP (inc xp remote desktop etc) is actually quite an efficient protocol.  Not sure, but I suspect it was one of the technologies bought in from Citrix in the NT4 era....

Why are you a TD, TD? You seem to know your stuff when it comes to computers. You should be making a fortune in IT.

Well, I wish I knew a bit more about it. When you all go off on one about computers I feel quite inadequate.

I have just been grown up with them, dad is an I.T Consultant so i just got used to them. Learnt by just playing which is the best way, i prefered to play Doom on my PC than go outside!  :-[

PC's are a doddle, i actually was in Special needs in years 7 & 8 cause of my reading and spelling, i still can't spell but i use a spellchecker now!  ;) - I also took german for 5 years ... still can't speak a bloody word of it!

So really i am a bit dense at most thing apart from: Computers & Cars, so don't feel bad m8

ok hows this one, me and my m8 (same one i am living with now at uni) went to hand in our german written coursework in, our rather good looking teacher was teacher but she waved us in. We handed our work in, turns out it was a year 8 class, and some punk was standing up reading fluent german!

We walked out looked at each other and lets just say a few bad words were uttered a few moments later  ;) ;D
