Vlad may have it right
« on: 06 November 2016, 09:17:50 »

I was watching an interview with some Redneck Trump supporters who said that, if the election was 'stolen' from them, there would be a 'revolution', with people taking to the streets. Over here, we have the same kind of undertones, people threatening violence should Brexit be blocked.
Why don't they do what Vlad does? It's so much calmer when no one dare say anything. ;D

Wasn't the undertones of Orwell's 1984 that democracy and 100% communism (something never attempted anywhere I believe) lead to totalitarianism?

Yes Trump got that idea in quite early,by saying,or inferring that were he to lose the election it would be because the voting had been rigged. Many years ago the then Russian leader[forget who] was giving a speech where he criticised Stalins rule and leadership, when a voice from the crowd shouted "Why did you not say any of this while he was alive?"On being asked who'd said that no one owned up the leader said "That is why I never said anything!"
