It's very easy for people to get on their high self righteous horse. The private parking companies have done their homework, they are not always right, but usually. And usually, it's about somebody just trying to get away with some dodgy parking.

Exactly.  Why some people think they can and get away with it is beyond me

I would assume the only reason, the parking company persued this, was the fact it was a cost effective case, £24 grands worth, if it had been for 1 ticket, they wouldn't have bothered but her stupidity for thinking she could carry on parking there has cost her £24k,  nice little earner for a £100 Sherriff's court summons.

I'm sure that most of us have been there to a greater or lesser extent. The parking ticket, getting nicked for a minor speeding offence, or something else, and that indignation, that feeling of injustice, that just pissedoffness, that gets your back up. However, in the cold light of day most are sensible enough to see, and accept the facts and realities. She didn't, and now look at where she is. However, if you have diplomatic plates in Central London . . . .

Interesting, just came back from Dundee and low and behold my brother had a parking fine from NCP in Dundee for not displaying the disabled badge because he had lost it, but the car is registered disabled and whilst having paid for the parking space/time, does that justify a charge of £60.00 which he did not pay on my advice then another letter from debt agency ZZPS asking for £120.00, so again is £120.00 justified for not displaying a disabled badge in a disabled bay when the car is registered disabled despite having the badge displayed. NCP's terms and conditions does not mean that anyone entering the car park have agreed or either signed them, so would be arguable in a court of law if it came to that. I have told my brother to write to NCP and cc in ZZPS to advise them their charge is unfair/unreasonable just for the issuance of one ticket and one letter from ZZPS and that the disabled status of the car can be checked and verified by DVLA. Having read through all this info regarding NCP and ZZPS and then next will be there solicitor letter from Wright & Hassle , yes the name is correct , they just bully you into paying and have never taken a case to court because they cannot as it would not stand up. This bearing in mind that each case would be judged on it's own merits. The case in Dundee relating to continually parking on double yellow lines in front of a garage

Read and understand the stuff on Money Saving Expert. If handled correctly then this can be defeated. If you stuff it up you will get royally screwed. You are handling it incorrectly at present.

Blue badges mean nothing on private land. It's the Disabilities act that matters. You don't have to have a blue badge to take advantage of the rights granted under the Disabilities act.
