It's Gods gift to ageing people. I was straining to read small print with my x2.5 reading glasses. Then I started squinting at larger print so, today, I bought myself a pair of x3.5. When I got home, I put them on to see if they were any better. I could see everything perfectly, so I went to the mirror to see what the glasses looked like on me. It was a nice bright day so perfect light and.....O...M....G. I got close up to the mirror. I could see how badly I'd shaved, with stray hairs on my neck and upper lip. I could see the errant, grey (white) nose hair trying to escape. The lines around my eyes and chin were like a ploughed field. Is this how I look to people who can see properly?
I whipped the glasses off, stood back a bit and squinted at the mirror. There....my old handsome self back. The glasses are staying on my side table, or in my drawer, or.....anywhere, anywhere but near that fickin mirror.

Sounds like you need surgery to make things easier on the eyes...

A facelift and a generous amount of cosmetic surgery.

Yes, we are so dependent on our eyesight. Unfortunately, my right eye is pretty much useless for seeing any detail. The left eye is not as good as it was and my low light vision is terrible. Not unusual in low light conditions to struggle to interpret what my eyes are telling me.

I know several people with AMD, two are virtually blind and the other person has the early stages where straight lines appear jagged.

Unfortunately, for many serious eye conditions there are no treatments or cures. This is begging to change and most conditions will be treatable and curable in the next 20 years. As age spans increase, with the majority of people living to 100-120, so the number of people will grow.

My eye colour isn`t that bright blue anymore  they`ve sorta faded to denim

I am doing some building work. Only got one light in the area. Measured twice 220.6cm cut item and it was exactly 20cm short. Only yesterday i tried to adjust the ipad font and predictably failed. The writing is so small you could get a Haynes manual on a postage stamp.
