We are off down to the O2 tomorrow about midday ,I am driving down looking at the route I will be
Going down the A12 and though the tunnel . Am I going to have to pay the toll ? I don't remember paying last time we went

Yes, it's free. Can you imagine the disruption and delays if they were to install booths for collecting money, then the horrendous queues? I know they could do what Dartford has done, but it would need massive investment and still plenty of delays. Londoners would not stand for it.

Do the speed limits in this area not actually apply  looks like they are just for display as no one appears to take any notice of them 🤔

There are a lot of speed cameras around that part of London. I think a lot of local drivers must know which ones are live and which ones aren't. I make sure I'm under the limit when approaching the cameras, but quite a lot of them just ignore them and fly past me, well above the limit. Either that or they all just drive around on false plates.

I am told that the Cheetah greed camera detector gives a clear indication of live cameras. apparently.

Some of the drivers down there are just down and out dangerous idiots ,I had two cars obviously racing each other and travelling at I would guess over 80 in a 50 limit one on the inside and the other on the outside lanes pass me then barge their way through gaps ridiculous driving .
It also seems when you join from a side road you have to get out to the outside lane no matter what as quickly as possibly it does not matter if the inside lane is empty
