Dont feel too bad, the 405 was a sh!t car to work on.  I had one myself and the HG went.  It took so much work to get to the cyl head I had to question whether it was worth it.   The garages were quoting about 800 quid to do the work ::o

Get the DVD you never know :y

hello mate, good to meet you however brief in thetford!

pm sent.

the place i use is just outside ely. its an independent vx specialist that do a lot of work on big vx engines and racing mods, so v6 cam belts are their bread and butter. they're ex vx employees too i think.

150 quid plus parts for the job (parts i supplied myself, genuine gm cambelt kit, tensioners and waterpump).

service is good, theyre quick, clean workshop and very friendly. have already recommended them to others a few times.

tell him the dan with the omega who enquired about tech2 last week sent you, he'll know who i am!

their contact details in pm
