Volvo were very good when I had an engine failure at 27k miles on a Volvo 960 estate due to a block casting fault. Where they had a 100k warranty the engine was free and they just charged me 25% of the labour cost, which worked out at about the same price as the 30k cambelt change. :y :y :y

Way back BL[or whatever they were called that day]in particular-but others also-were slated for releasing cars too early and leaving it to customers to do the development testing, mainly through their complaints of faults! While recalls have always gone on the numbers these days are quite frightening and can be anything from fuel hose clips[Mondeo]through software updates onwards.

You forgot the disclaimer:

Warning: Failure to regularly breath in and out may affect your quality of life and lifespan. As a socially aware company we are fully committed to people breathing in and out regularly and accept no responsibility for those that fail to do so to the full extent that Federal Law allows for any life changing events for those that fail to do so. ;D ;D ;D

As a further addition to this I've just read on the my feed bit that pops up when I first fire up the laptop about other recalls[there's 39 listed]from modern to back into the '70s.One of these was for the Mazda 6 which had a recall due to the Yellow Sac Spider :o-I kid ye not-apparently this developed a love of petrol and built its webs inside the engine ??? which could lead to blockages and fire!
