I currently run a 97 2.0 lx mundaneo(aka the bin), now firstly, I have to admit the mundaneo  (bin) is a good car, very cheap to run and insure. Secondly, I picked mine up for £150 at an auction, 118k with FSH, company car from new, 6mnths MOT and because it had two cracked bumpers the traders would not touch i. I drove home in this perfectly good runaround.

Herein lies the problem.

She who must be obeyed can have her little 1.2 shopping trolley SEAT IBIZA.

Whilst I indulge myself with a frankly BARGAIN £500 1997 Omega Reflection manual 2.5.

Apart from the usual issues, mainly bypass valve p**sing coolant and spots of rust on the bootlid,  the meega is due to get another years MOT, and a fresh tax disc in the window.

The Meega is a frankly interesting little project, whilst the mundaneo (bin) will be kept as the daily driver/shunter/rescue vehicle it has already been, until the car gives it up.

The meega is ultimately the favourite, as fords competition was only available in a slush box as opposed to the manual MV6.

P.S.   I dont have anything against autos, it's just nice to have the choice.

SWMBO had a 'T' plate Mondeo 2.0 16v Ghia X estate before her Omega.

It bit the big one!!! I was soooo happy to see that go!!

It is easy to get attached to cars though. I bawled my eyes out when I had to say goobye to my first car, (Cortina estate), and definitely had a lump in my throat when I sold my Supra a few years back.
