Computer Help - DDR2 Speeds

Memory speeds.

DDR2 Memeory speed on a Single core 3.0 Ghz 64 Bit 775

Whats the lowest speed memory these need to run, or is it down to different bus speeds for memory and CPU to optimise performance.

it all depands on what make the motherboard is.
you can pick up DDR2 800 Mhz memory from http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cat=11&type=11030&man=0&filterwords=&go=SEARCH&comp= for 14 pounds +p&p

ddr2 pretty compatible, unlike ddr which could be troublesome.

Make sure the FSB frequency, likely to be 800Mhz, divides nicely into memory speed.

Just been looking at new motherboards and considering taking the DDR3 route.  Down side is when I did that as DDR2 was new it was  bit trial and error to gets boards and ram to work together.

Anybody using DDR3 yet.

Depends on the FSB speed of your chip. Do you have the chip model number (775 is the socket type).

800 MHz is probably a safe bet without this info.

Thats what I reckon...

I saw 3G single core, and assumed P4, unless EE, will be 800Mhz.  AFAIK, you can't get a single core 3G Core2...

I did put 64 Bit
64bit could be both P4 or Core2...
