Code readers
« on: 04 September 2008, 22:46:30 »

Hi all i know code readers are disscused quite often but the one thing i cant find is what readers work with the older migs.

So my question is does anyone know what readers will work with a 98 2.0 mini facelift.  Ive got an elm327 and a laptop with a serial port and that wont work on my car.  Or am i just stupid and doing something wrong :-[

ELM327 is for OBDII cars AFAIK ...  won't work on earlier ones.

I think the DBW cars are all OBDII.

Hi,
I am reluctant to offer comment on subjects I don't know much about.

But for info, I bought a MaxScan GS500 to read and cancel codes on my 02 Omega.
On the side of the box it says "Works with all 1996 and the later OBD II compliant US, Euopean and Asian vehicles"

Don't know if this helps.
