Seen quite a few posts from various sources, and since I posted I have seen this in a few places.

That will be some stupid, uninformed idiot from arsebook trying to get 15mins of fame.

Energy companies wouldn't even notice.  Businesses aren't going to turn off their furnaces, because it will cost a fortune to restart them, in addition to a few days of lost production.  And the industry that uses over half of the electricity generated globally - bit barns - won't shut down.
