Ashtray locking plate spring
« on: 26 May 2025, 12:38:32 »

Does anyone know the dimensions of the locking plate spring used on a facelift Omega ashtray housing. As there were no responses to another members wanted ad for a housing, I am going to try to repair mine. Basically, I am going to manufacture a peg, but I don’t have the spring. There are loads of torsion springs on the bay of thieves, but I don’t know the dimensions and strength needed. Any help would be appreciated  :y :y

Shame that I can't understand a word this chap is saying as it might have helped a bit, but if you speak Turkish you may be alright.  ::)  I thought seeing the design of the spring may help.  :-\

Thanks Al, but that's the wrong spring, mate. It's the one under the locking plate I need. I've got a rough idea of the size by looking at the guide on here. I am assuming it only needs enough tension to allow the locking plate to flip back on opening. Thanks anyway :y

Ah yes, I just looked at the RobG guide and see what you mean.  :y
